The Lunch Group will continue to meet monthly and support local businesses where possible
February 12th 2015 - Norbury Farm
A return to Norbury Farm to start the year. The group enjoyed the meal but not the draughts!
March 13th 2015 - The Boar's Head Higher Poynton
Once settled away from the draughts of the back room we enjoyed a meal in the cosy bar area.
April 22nd 2015 - The Deanwater
Eight ladies headed off to the Deanwater for lunch. The dining area was bright and cheerful and full, mostly ladies we noticed!! The menu was varied and offered small or large portions for a number of the items, which suited our various appetites!!!! We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and the company and felt it was very good value for money.
15th May 2015 The Cheshire Line Tavern
Six of us went to The Cheshire Line Tavern for lunch. It was very busy , there was a wedding party in one of the dining rooms so it was fortunate that we had booked but even so the food was freshly cooked and well presented. Service was cheerful and friendly.
9th June 2015 - REMS, Chapel-en-le Frith
The "ladies who lunch" ate at REMS in Chapel-en-le-Frith in June. Although it was quite a small restaurant with mediocre decor, we were treated very well with the chef coming out to advise us on ordering. Most of us elected to have Tapas dishes to share and these were absolutely delicious. It was also extremely reasonable when it came to paying the bill. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
July 2015 Tom YAm - Poynton
The food was beautifully presented and everyone agreed it was delicious. The décor was very elegant and the service was good too. For some it was their first visit but would definitely go again.
August 2015 Sutton Hall
Four of us had lunch at Sutton Hall near Macclesfield on an extremely wet day (It's a very picturesque place and it would have been nice to have been able to explore the grounds a little). The hall is very old and atmospheric. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient and the food was all freshly cooked to order. We all enjoyed our meals, clean plates all round, and it would be good to go again.
For our September lunch club, we revisited Al Fresco in Hazel Grove, having enjoyed it very much on the previous occasion. Nine members went and we were not disappointed. We all enjoyed the lunch special which was a pizza, pasta or risotto plus a glass of wine for a very reasonable £6.95. The food was hot and tasty and the service efficient and cheerful
